I’ve been working with the Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID marketing team for some time and was asked to create and deliver a social media marketing training session for local businesses.
The BID has been ramping up its digital support for the town since launching Sutton Rewards, a digital loyalty scheme, in 2014 and the team were keen to provide local businesses with the skills to develop their own digital marketing plans to allow them to stay relevant in the market. I was (obviously) more than happy to prepare and deliver a tailored social media marketing training workshop for the BID team, which was delivered at Sutton Coldfield College Professional Service Academy this Summer.
Businesses in attendance included restaurants, healthcare providers, local authority representatives, writers, and flooring specialists, with a total attendance of around thirty delegates. Participants learned how to build a social media marketing strategy, what content may work well for their industry, how to create a social media content calendar, and how to measure success on social media platforms.
The training session was a roaring success and was rounded off by a spot of lunch and one-to-one support for the levy-payers. I held off eating all the cakes (this time) while answering questions on tactics and digital content.
